We are Mariana De La Rosa and Marika van Santvoort, the founders of Gaia Cacao. We started this venture in 2019 because we felt there is a gap between producers of premium cacao and bean to bar makers, who buy in small volumes. Organizing the logistics to bring those beans to market, can then be a costly and complicated exercise - on both ends.

Gaia represents a group of producers and exporters from South America, currently Ecuador and Venezuela. We help them to ship over cacao and keep stock of their beans in Amsterdam. We have carefully selected premium beans available in small or large volumes. We pride ourselves with our great care to flavour, consistency, sustainability and pure varieties from the partners we work with. Our business is based on transparency and trustworthy relationships with them.
